Viber has a new version for download, been updated today to version 2.01. This Viber version comes with a free text messaging application that allows you to text for free to all those in your Viber contacts. The application also provide instant notifications for incoming text messages. This is kind of like the Whatsapp application that has been very successful.

Viber Media has claimed that the app has had more than 10 million downloads. The app requires iOS 3.1 or greater. Unfortunately, Viber is still unavailable for the iPad or iPod touch – even Android and Blackberry for that matter. Many have been waiting for this for months. The viber for iphone works on both Wi-Fi and 3G networks, and it is still free.
